Transportation
Libra Group has more than 30 years' track record in the global transportation markets - in particular ship-owning and management. Libra Capital has helped the group's operating companies to make shrewd counter-cyclical investment decisions.
Between 2004 - 2006, we managed the strategic sale of a total of 67 vessels for the Libra Group. In December 2009 we advised on the $325 million acquisition of the Allocean group and its mixed fleet of 26 modern vessels. We are actively involved in further fleet growth opportunities on behalf of Lomar.
Libra Capital's advice to Lease Corporation International (LCI), the Libra Group's aircraft leasing company, helped it to become the world's largest privately owned aircraft lessor within three years of its formation. Since LCI's inception, we have advised on the acquisition of aircraft valued at over $3.5 billion. This includes purchases in 2009 of 20 new generation Bombardier CSeries jetliners (with an option to purchase a further 20) plus a further 12 Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
